
BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – What began as a celebratory evening quickly turned chaotic after a large fight broke out following Woodrow Wilson High School’s graduation ceremony at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center on Thursday night.
At 6:43 p.m., officers working security at the event were alerted to a fight involving 10 or more individuals near the venue. Police responded immediately as the crowd began to scatter.
Officers swiftly secured the area and are now in the process of conducting interviews and reviewing surveillance footage to identify those involved.
Chief Bailey of the Beckley Police Department is asking for the public’s help. “Anyone with video, photos, or information about the incident is encouraged to contact us,” he stated.

The incident has raised concerns about safety at public events and the need for continued community cooperation. No injuries have been officially reported as of this writing.
