Amy Frontino Montefiori Federici, a cherished resident of North East, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the age of 96. She spent her final days at the Sarah Reed Senior Living Center, surrounded by compassionate care and love. Born on February 23, 1929, Amy was the daughter of the late Jennie (Villardo) and Louis Frontino.
Amy’s life was marked by warmth, dedication, and an unwavering love for family and community. She enjoyed spending time with loved ones, engaging in card games, and tending to her home and garden. Her commitment to nurturing both family and community defined her life and left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege to know her.
In her earlier years, Amy worked at the Louis Marx Toy Company, fondly recalling her time there and the camaraderie she shared with her colleagues. Later in life, she dedicated herself to volunteer work, serving at the Blessed Sacrament Food Bank and contributing as a standardized patient at LECOM Health — an “acting” role she approached with enthusiasm and dedication.
After marrying her husband Benny Montefiori, Amy settled in North East, where she focused on raising their children and supporting Benny in his tailor shop. Family was Amy’s greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love extended beyond human family members to her beloved grand dog, Lucy, who shared in the warmth of her home.
Amy was preceded in death by her infant son, Michael Montefiori; her husbands, Benny Montefiori and Angelo Federici; her beloved sisters Rose (Bud) Sweeney, Connie (Al) Buffalari, Marion (Jack) Soeder, Jeanette (Ed) Walker, and Lorreta (Don) Bruschi; her brothers Jason (Mary) Frontino, Jim (Betty and Jan) Frontino, and Sal (Jean) Frontino; her brother-in-law Nick Montefiori (Delores); her nephews Al Buffalari, Jason, Louis, and Sieri Frontino; and her stepson Benny Montefiori.
She leaves behind a large and loving family who will carry forward her legacy. Amy is survived by her children Lisa Montefiori of Chicago, Michael Montefiori of Erie, Tony (Kelly) Montefiori of North East, and Louis (Debbie) Montefiori of Erie; and her stepchildren Rick (Faith) Federici, Penni Federici, and Sharon Siciliano, all of Erie. Her grandchildren include Jacob (Alexandra) Montefiori, Jeremy Montefiori, Andrew Montefiori, Evan Montefiori, Tony Montefiori, Salvatore (Joelle) Montefiori, Katie (Travis) Dombeck, Annie Montefiori, Marco Montefiori, Marialana (Matt Tusick) Montefiori, Dominic Montefiori, Santino Montefiori, Alexis and Ricky Federici, and Noah Laughner. Amy’s great-grandchildren Henry, Leo, Allie, Oliver, Elliot, and one more on the way, along with her sister-in-law Helen Frontino, nieces, and nephews, also survive her.
The family expresses profound gratitude to the staff at Sarah Reed Senior Living for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Amy during her final months. Their dedication provided comfort and dignity during this time of transition.
Friends and community members are invited to pay their respects at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, located at 2122 Raspberry Street. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. A service to honor Amy’s life will take place on Friday, May 30, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 10 a.m. Amy will be laid to rest at St. Gregory’s Cemetery in North East, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice, reflecting Amy’s spirit of generosity and service to others.
Amy Frontino Montefiori Federici’s life was one of love, kindness, and dedication. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her. May she rest in peace, embraced by the eternal love she so freely gave.
