WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman was arrested Friday night, May 2, 2025, following a heated domestic dispute that escalated into a confrontation with law enforcement in Herndon, Wyoming County.
At approximately 9:00 p.m., Trooper B.M. Bane of the West Virginia State Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance reported by Wyoming County 911. Upon arrival at around 9:25 p.m., the trooper spoke with multiple individuals at the residence who claimed that Nikita Mills had been yelling, cursing, and acting erratically.
According to statements gathered on the scene, Mills’ behavior had been an ongoing concern, reportedly fueled by suspected drug use. Several people at the home requested that she leave due to her disruptive conduct.
Trooper Bane attempted to deescalate the situation and even offered Mills a courtesy ride to another location for the night. Mills declined, citing concerns about leaving her belongings behind. While the trooper was retrieving paperwork to inform everyone of their rights, Mills returned to the porch and began yelling again.
When instructed to step off the porch to calm the situation, Mills reportedly became confrontational, telling the trooper, “You can’t talk to me like that,” and refusing to comply. As the trooper attempted to guide her into the yard, she resisted and pulled away, prompting the officer to take her to the ground.
Despite resisting arrest, Mills was safely handcuffed without injury and placed in the patrol vehicle. Witnesses later told the trooper that Mills had threatened to burn the house down during the incident.
Mills was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault, Obstructing an Officer, and Disorderly Conduct.
