
MOUNT HOPE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Residents of Fayette County will have an opportunity to tidy up their properties and dispose of unwanted items during a community cleanup event scheduled for May 21, 22, and 23.
The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each day at 679 Stadium Drive, Mount Hope, directly across from the football field.
The event will feature onsite roll-off dumpsters for convenient disposal. Organizers remind participants that no liquids or hazardous materials of any kind will be accepted.
Tires are permitted but must not be from semi or tractor vehicles.
Appliances will also be accepted.
To participate, residents must provide photo identification and proof of residency. The event is open to all Fayette County residents.
Participants must also present a valid trash service or landfill receipt dated within the last 60 days or show a violation or clean-up tag issued by a litter control officer.
Dump trucks and trash haulers are not permitted to use the site. Unauthorized dumping is strictly prohibited.
Individuals using the site without approval may face fines or jail time under West Virginia law (§61-3-53). Penalties for illegal dumping range from fines of $50 to $1,000 and may include jail time for repeated offenses.
Organizers note that once dumpsters are full, no additional materials will be accepted.
