ATLANTA, Ga. (June 11, 2025) — A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the weekend shooting death of 29-year-old Tyrell “Reef” Oliver, who was gunned down late Saturday night in southwest Atlanta.
The Atlanta Police Department (APD) confirmed that officers were dispatched to the scene of a shooting on Metropolitan Parkway, a heavily traveled corridor in the city’s southwest region, just before midnight on Saturday, June 7. Upon arrival, they found Oliver suffering from what was described as “an apparent gunshot wound.”
Emergency responders rushed Oliver to a local hospital in critical condition, but despite efforts to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Police have not confirmed the number of gunshot wounds or the caliber of the weapon used, and no suspects have been publicly identified as of this time.
A Community Mourns

The APD’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the incident and following up on leads. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and speaking with potential witnesses who may have been in the area when the shooting occurred.
Officials have not released any details about a possible motive, and it remains unclear whether Oliver was the intended target or if the shooting was random.
