CROSS LANES, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traffic crash early this morning around 5:11 AM at Tudor’s/Gino’s, located at 106 Goff Mountain Road, following reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, deputies and crash investigators determined that an 86-year-old man, identified as Mr. Dennis Eugene Taylor of Cross Lanes, was operating a mobility scooter and attempting to cross Goff Mountain Road when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.
Mr. Taylor sustained critical injuries and was transported to Thomas Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to those injuries.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Team.
At this time, no charges have been filed against the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident.
