JACKSON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A male from Oak Hill is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly attempting to murder the mother of his child during a violent attack in Jackson County on June 6, 2025.
According to criminal complaints filed in Jackson County Magistrate Court, Logan Mark Willis, 21, of Oak Hill, is charged with attempted murder, malicious assault, and strangulation following a disturbing incident involving his girlfriend and the mother of his child.
Authorities say the Jackson County 911 Center received a call from Willis stating that he had just been in a fight.
Investigators later determined that Willis had picked up the victim from her home in Kenna, West Virginia, drove her to a remote area, and proceeded to violently assault and strangle her.
The victim told authorities that Willis beat her until she stopped breathing and then dragged her by the hair into a wooded area, where she lost consciousness. She later regained consciousness and was able to seek help.
Law enforcement noted that the victim suffered severe injuries consistent with a life-altering beating, and evidence of strangulation was supported by both her statements and documentation by Lt. C.R. Saltsgaver.
