HENRY COUNTY, VA (LOOTPRESS) – What began as a routine traffic stop quickly escalated into a major drug bust after a Henry County Sheriff’s deputy pulled over a vehicle displaying fictitious tags on Virginia Avenue.
The vehicle, occupied by four individuals, drew further suspicion when deputies noticed conflicting statements among the occupants. A K-9 unit from the Martinsville Police Department was called in, and the dog alerted to the presence of narcotics.
During the subsequent search, deputies uncovered a Taurus 9mm handgun, multiple pre-packaged bags of suspected methamphetamine, five varieties of pressed pills, various colored powders, and other materials commonly associated with drug distribution. Also found? A handwritten grocery list with more innocent intentions — potted meat, bread, eggs, milk, and cheese.
Further investigation led authorities to identify Terri Lynn Warren, 26, of Caswell, North Carolina, as the person responsible for the illegal substances and firearm.
She now faces several felony charges, including:
-
Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I/II controlled substance (VA Code § 18.2-248)
-
Possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule I/II substance (VA Code § 18.2-308.4)
-
Possession of a concealed weapon (VA Code § 18.2-308)
Warren is currently being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond.
