CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Pediatric patients at CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital will have the chance to step into the role of reporter as they interview players and coaches from the Charleston Dirty Birds baseball team.
The special event, set for June 2 at 1 p.m. at CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital, is a partnership between the Dirty Birds, CAMC, and the CAMC Foundation.
Current and former pediatric patients will get the opportunity to ask players about their careers, the current baseball season, and more.
“Children ask a lot of questions, love to play games and look up to athletes,” said Andrew Weber, VP/Administrator of CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital. “We’re excited to be part of this event giving young patients the opportunity to do all three at once.”
This is the second year the Dirty Birds and CAMC have hosted the press conference, continuing a decade-long partnership between the organizations.
“It is a true gift to be able to work with CAMC on this event. We are really looking forward to being there and providing this one-of-a-kind experience,” said Dirty Birds CEO/Owner Andy Shea. “The kids are so brave and courageous; we’re honored that we can share some smiles and fun memories with them.”
Media members planning to cover the event should check in at the main lobby of CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital at 800 Pennsylvania Ave., Charleston, and will be escorted to the boardroom.
