(LOOTPRESS) In a marketing move that’s equal parts bold and bizarre, Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney has teamed up with men’s natural soap brand Dr. Squatch to launch a limited-edition bar called “Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss.” Yes — it’s exactly what it sounds like.
Inspired by an October Dr. Squatch ad that featured the Emmy-nominated actress luxuriating in a tub, the soap playfully leans into viral fan obsession with the star’s bathwater. Now, thanks to popular demand (and some wild fan mail), fans can lather up with a product that claims to bottle the essence of Sweeney’s bathtub.
“You kept asking about my bathwater… so we kept it,” Sweeney teased in a joint Instagram post with the brand. The $8 bar drops June 6 at 12 p.m. on Dr. Squatch’s website — but only for a limited time.
The soap features an outdoorsy scent dubbed “morning wood,” blending pine, Douglas fir, and moss with — yes — a “touch” of Sydney’s bathwater, which is humorously labeled as a “narrative element” and “one of nature’s finest aphrodisiacs.”
Online reactions have ranged from fascinated to flat-out horrified. Critics are calling it gross, while die-hard fans joke about using it to water plants or as makeshift eye drops. Sweeney stands by the quirky concept, calling it “weird in the best way” and “unforgettable.”
“When your fans start asking for your bathwater, you can either ignore it — or turn it into a bar of Dr. Squatch soap,” the actress quipped in a press release.
Dr. Squatch’s senior VP of marketing, John Ludeke, echoed the sentiment: “This bar is bizarre, unexpected, and meant to get guys thinking more deeply about what they’re putting on their bodies.”
Love it or hate it, one thing’s for sure — Sydney Sweeney just redefined the phrase “clean celebrity brand.”
