
ANSTED, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Town of Ansted has seen a recent uptick in bear sightings, with several reports of bears rummaging through trash cans and approaching homes.
Town officials say they’ve received numerous inquiries from concerned residents and visitors asking what steps to take in response to the encounters.
In response, Ansted Town Hall is encouraging the public to contact the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (DNR) for guidance.

Residents are reminded to secure trash, remove outdoor food sources, and avoid approaching or feeding bears.
