FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Despite chilly weather and looming rain, the Canyon Rim Rotary Club held a spirited induction ceremony on Thursday, May 22, at The Gaines Estate, welcoming twelve new members into its ranks.
The evening began with guest speaker Retired Vice Admiral and fellow Rotarian Dan McCarthy, who shared insights into the history of Rotary and its global mission.
McCarthy encouraged the new members to actively participate, emphasizing the value of being “part of a global organization for good.”
Following the speech, Membership Chair Matthew Wender led the formal induction. Each new member received a certificate, pin, and coin presented by their sponsor, marking their official welcome into the club.
The ceremony was followed by a reception for members and guests.
“To ensure success and longevity of a club, it is of vital importance for fraternal and social organizations to identify and recruit community minded persons who are unselfish with their time,” said Wender.
The new members include Brecon Richmond, Debbie Bush, Rebecca Kullum, Cheril Ross, Ella Turton, Megan Massie, Wendy Talbert, Gina Fleming, Dr. Yancy Short, Dreama Fritz, Jeff Proctor, and Mia Short.
