MONONGALIA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities are investigating a serious two-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Monongalia County.
The accident took place around 2:10 p.m. on May 29, 2025, at the intersection of Mileground Road and Hartman Run Road.
According to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office, the crash involved a 2009 Nissan Xterra and a 2006 Yamaha Cruiser motorcycle.
Preliminary reports indicate that the Nissan was traveling southbound on Mileground Road from Easton Hill and attempted to turn left onto Hartman Run Road.
At the same time, the motorcycle was traveling northbound in the right lane of Mileground Road and heading straight toward Easton Hill when the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
The male motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and landed off the roadway. He was transported by Mon EMS to Ruby Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
The Brookhaven and Star City Volunteer Fire Departments also responded to the scene. Authorities say more information will be released as it becomes available.
