It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Chase Woodle, a beloved husband, father, son, friend, and community member.
Chase, who lived in Gretna, Nebraska, and served as the President of Oxford Construction Co. Inc., passed away following a courageous and harrowing battle with the aftermath of a ruptured brain aneurysm. His death has left an unfillable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Born and raised in Papillion, Nebraska, Chase attended Papillion-LaVista South High School and later pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).
Ambitious, determined, and kind-hearted, Chase built a respected career in construction, ultimately becoming the President of Oxford Construction Co. Inc., where his leadership and integrity were admired by colleagues and clients alike.
On March 22, Chase’s life changed dramatically when he suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm that caused a subarachnoid hemorrhage. What followed was a series of life-threatening complications and a series of surgeries that showcased both the strength of the human spirit and the immense power of medical science.
That same evening, Chase underwent a complex endovascular brain surgery to place a coil in the “giant aneurysm” and several stents to prevent further damage. Thanks to the skilled neurosurgery team at Methodist Hospital, the procedure was initially successful.
Over the following weeks, Chase underwent a series of additional procedures, including the replacement of an external ventricular (EV) drain, an emergency angioplasty to combat dangerous cerebral vasospasms, and finally the placement of a permanent shunt.
He spent two full weeks in the ICU and several more days in another hospital unit, facing every new challenge with unwavering courage and resilience. Despite suffering three small ischemic strokes, doctors were hopeful about a full recovery.
Chase eventually returned home, and his loved ones celebrated what felt like a miraculous turn of events. His wife lovingly shared the journey, expressing deep gratitude for the medical team, their community, and the many friends, family members, and strangers who lifted them up in prayer.
The outpouring of support gave them strength in their darkest hours, and there was hope that, with time, Chase would regain his health and return to the life he loved.
Tragically, Chase’s fight came to an unexpected end. Despite surviving the odds and returning home, complications from his condition ultimately claimed his life. His passing is not only a medical tragedy but an emotional one for everyone who followed his journey and rooted for his recovery.
Chase will be remembered for his resilience, his sense of humor, his dedication to his work, and his deep love for his family. He was a rock to those around him, a leader in his field, and someone who never backed down from a challenge. Above all, he was a devoted husband and best friend to his wife, whose love for him never wavered throughout the ordeal.
He leaves behind a heartbroken family, including his wife, extended relatives, dear friends, and a supportive community that rallied around him during his health crisis. Their grief is immense, but so too is the pride in the incredible man Chase was.
Services to honor and celebrate Chase’s life will be announced by the family in the coming days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to organizations that support aneurysm research and neurological care.
Chase Woodle’s story is one of bravery, love, and enduring hope. Though gone far too soon, he will never be forgotten.
