Upon arrival, officers located the suspect, identified as Charles Stalnaker, who flagged down police and admitted to getting into a heated argument over who was taking the vehicle. He also admitted to grabbing the woman—his live-in girlfriend and mother of his child—by the back of the neck and arm in an attempt to pull her from the car.
As the woman drove off, Stalnaker allegedly smashed the front passenger window, causing injuries to her left wrist from broken glass. Officers observed visible injuries on her wrist, neck, and arm.
Stalnaker was arrested on the scene without incident and charged with first-offense domestic battery.
