MARSHALL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Cameron man was killed Sunday evening in a workplace accident at the Westlake Chemical Plant in Proctor, according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
Steven E. Chambers, 44, was performing maintenance work on a high-pressure water line when the line exploded, causing him to fall from a ladder positioned approximately 10 to 20 feet above the ground.
Chambers, a member of Boilermakers Local Union #667, was transported to Wetzel County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the fall.
The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on May 13.
