BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — In recognition of the emotional challenges Mother’s Day can bring for those grieving the loss of a mother or mother figure, Hospice of Southern West Virginia (HSWV) will host a special grief support session on Wednesday, May 8, 2025.
Open to anyone in the community, the session will be held at Bowers Hospice House, located at 454 Cranberry Drive in Beckley. The event aims to provide a compassionate space for individuals to reflect, share memories, and find support among others navigating similar grief.
Led by HSWV’s experienced bereavement specialists, the session is designed to help participants explore personal coping strategies and connect with others during a time that can intensify feelings of loss.
“There’s no right or wrong way to grieve, especially around the holidays,” said Jeri Knowlton, Director of Public Relations for HSWV. “This session offers a chance to acknowledge those emotions and find comfort in a supportive environment.”
The event is free to attend. While preregistration is encouraged, it is not required.
